2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Wins Another Award

The 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 has won another award! This time they were honored by the New England Motor Press Association with the 2010 Winter Vehicle Award:

The 2010 Ram 1500 continued its winning streak, bringing home yet another award in the highly competitive pickup truck segment, receiving the New England Motor Press Association's (NEMPA) 2010 Winter Vehicle Award — Best-In-Class Pickup for the second year in a row. The 2010 Ram has won more than 20 awards since its introduction.

"The Ram 1500 stood head and shoulders above the competition due to its superb multi-link coil spring suspension," said John Paul, Winter Vehicle Team Coordinator. "Its creative use of interior storage space and the unique segment busting Rambox cargo storage made it an easy choice for Best in Class Pick-up Truck."

In February, more than 50 members of the NEMPA gathered for their annual Winter Vehicle voting day. Vehicles were chosen based on how they met specific needs of New England drivers during winter.

The New England Motor Press Association is unique among regional motor press groups. Its media members represent all six New England states, reaching one of the largest populations in America. These automotive writers and talk show hosts influence consumers who are in the market to buy cars and trucks in order to cope with the region's punishing weather conditions.

Truck Month at Cowboy Dodge

Join us for Truck Month at Cowboy Dodge!

We have a great inventory of 2010 trucks here on the lot. We have 19 Ram 3500’s 13 Ram 2500’s and 21 Ram 1500’s.

The Ram Heavy Duty Truck is Motor Trends “Truck of the Year” 2010 for lots of reasons. They come standard with the powerful Hemi 5.7 V8 gas motor generating 383hp with 400ft-lbs of torque. The 6.7 Cummins Diesel is where it really shines. It is the only diesel on the market that is a true 6 cylinder with a common rail fuel system. It boasts 350hp with 650ft-lbs of torque at an incredible 1,500rpm. Backed up by a 5 year / 100,000 mile warranty. If towing is what you need to do, this truck performs with an available loaded trailer weight of 17,800 lbs and a payload capacity of 5,050lbs. The Ram Heavy Duty will move your toys and trailers with no problem. This year they have even included a integrated trailer brake controller to back up the Cummins exclusive Exhaust Brake, giving you absolute control of your load.
Be sure to ask about the many available features on the Ram Heavy Duty trucks. The Laramie package has it all… heated leather seats as a standard on all trucks now, but do they have a heated steering wheel or fan-cooled seats? How about a remote start on the diesels to help take the bit out of those cold mornings? They all come standard with Sirius Satellite radio to keep you entertained on those long hauls through bad radio reception. The entertainment package includes a touch-screen that acts a DVD player when the truck is in park. It also has a 30GB hard drive that will store pictures and music that can even be put into playlists. They all are BLUETOOTH capable to make sure all your business calls don’t effect your driving. For the passengers they now get floor heat vents to warm cold feet and rear heated seats. DVD screen can either come in the headrest or fold-down from the ceiling, pair that with the reclining rear seats in the mega-cab and there is no need to stay in an expensive hotel.

March also starts the Jeep “Adrenaline Rush” sales event. Now even though we are still getting snow storms here on the front range, spring is right around the corner, and spring is the time to enjoy all that a Jeep provides. There is some much to say about Jeep: the best way to sum it up is “It is a Jeep Thing.” We do have Wranglers here on the lot; both the 4-door and the classic 2-door. We even have the Rubicon with is disconnecting sway bar and lockable front and rear axels. The Jeep will take you straight from the showroom to the top of your local trail. Lets not forget about the Grand Cherokees with an available Hemi 5.7 V8 that uses the Multiple Displacement System made famous by the Chrysler 300 a few years back. This is the fuel saving technology that shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders when cruising, but that V8 power is there ready whenever you need it. The Jeep Liberty and Commander are great family SUVs that are still “Trail Rated” for when it is time to teach the kids about life without electricity. The Commander even has 3rd row seating capabilities. For those who want to get into the Jeep world but are looking for something a little smaller than the Commander or Grand Cherokee, Jeep has two answers for YOU! The Patriot and the Compass; you really have to drive these to realize just how fun they are!

Automobile Magazine Review of 2010 Dodge Ram 3500

Automobile Magazine recently gave a great review of the Dodge Ram HD 3500:

As far as big rigs go--what a truck. I had this for an extended stint and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s comfortable, smooth to control and powerful in every aspect of its being.

Let’s start on the inside. This is very well-put together with nice materials and a handsome appearance. It almost feels like a luxury truck. The controls are intuitive, and you get a spectacular view of the road.

Driving is a hoot. There is something intrinsically fun about rolling around in a big truck, and the Ram 3500 HD lives up to its initials--it’s trucking in high definition. With plenty of vacation days to burn, I did some of the manly things you should do in a Ram, and this truck handled it all no problem. I drove in the snow. I drove through unpaved roads in the middle of nowhere. I went to Home Depot. It was good times in the Ram.

But despite the dual wheels on both sides and wide appearance in back, this truck doesn’t drive that big. Once you get used to maintaining lane position with the extra girth, it’s a great cruiser on the expressways where you can see what’s going on far ahead of you. Plus the flared fenders in back and bold grille really say Ram. I think it’s more imposing than the Ford and Chevrolet heavy-duty trucks. It has almost a surreal the presence to it.

Dodge Ram Wins Motorweek Drivers' Choice

For the second year in a row, the Dodge Ram Pickup line has been named Best Pickup Truck by Motorweek Drivers' Choice. Here is what they had to say:

Our choice for Best Pickup Truck is also a repeat winner, from the Chrysler Group, the full-size Ram pickup. Last year, when it was known as the Dodge Ram, the emphasis was on the light duty, personal use Ram 1500. This year they add real workhorses – the Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500. Complete with carry-hearty leaf springs, these Goliaths have their blood pumped by either a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 or a Cummins 6.7-liter Turbodiesel 6 that puts out a staggering 650 pound-feet of torque. Towing capacity is over 17,000 pounds. Electronic locking diffs, Bilstein shocks and a 12,000-pound winch are also available. And like the Ram 1500, the Heavy Duty line gets a redesigned interior with loads of refinement and amenities. Touting updated big-rig styling and now a true Crew Cab model, the HD Ram pickups are all you'll ever need to get the job done.
